The travelling exhibition ‘Giving Refuge - Hoping Together (Zuflucht geben – Gemeinsam hoffen)’ will be on display in the Düsseldorf University Library from Wednesday, 25 June 2025 until Friday, 18 July 2025.The exhibition portrays in words and pictures the perspective of refugees who were or are in church asylum. It is about stories of flight and the experiences of individuals and families. The focus is on the people who tell their experiences of disenfranchisement, flight and escape and are presented as subjects of action. There is also information about the practice of church asylum with quotes from people who are involved in church asylum work. The exhibition was conceived and realised by people involved in church asylum work. The portrait photos were taken by an Iranian artist.The exhibition is being shown in co-operation with Prof. Susanne Spindler and Sahra Kamali.
