On the occasion of the nationwide Open Monument Day on 14 September 2025, the Alter Schlachthof memorial site and the university library are offering guided tours on the history of the Jews deported from the Düsseldorf slaughterhouse during the Nazi regime, as well as architectural tours.
We are also pleased to present the photography exhibition "Pack Deine Sachen!" in the basement of the building, which focuses on the stories of Ukrainian women who have fled their country since 2014. At 5 p.m., Xenia Gromak and Olha Novykova will give a bilingual (German/Ukrainian) curator's tour with insights into the creation and context of the exhibition.
