Survey on the quality assurance of scientific publishers

​​By February 14, 2025, the state initiative openaccess.nrw would like to find out the opinions of academics at the 42 universities in the DH.NRW network in a survey: ​

How do you rate the quality assurance of publishers and journals, and what criteria influence your choice of a publication venue?


This survey serves as an important building block to:​​

  • gain science-specific insights into the use and evaluation of scientific publishers.
  • create transparency on quality assurance practices and publication services.

Who can participate?

  • All academics at DH.NRW universities - from professors to post-doctoral researchers to research assistants.
 
Survey information:
  • The survey refers to the publishers Elsevier, MDPI, Springer Nature, Wiley, Frontiers, Taylor and Francis and De Gruyter.
  • The background is the publication output report by oa.nrw, which examined the use of these publishers in 2022.
  • Duration: 2-15 minutes (depending on experience with the publishers).
  • Anonymity is guaranteed.
