On Monday, 1 September 2025, the library of Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences will change its payment processing system: all payments will be cashless only.
The reason for this is the ongoing trend towards contactless payment, which has intensified since the coronavirus pandemic. The number of cash payments at the HSD library has also declined steadily in recent years.
What does this mean in concrete terms?
From 1 September 2025, fees can only be paid in the following ways:

- More flexible: payment possible on site or conveniently on the go by bank transfer
- Transparent: every payment is automatically documented
