From May through September, a North Rhine-Westphalia-wide training program for researchers will feature numerous events on the topic of Research Data Management (RDM) – online, free of charge, and practice-oriented.
HSD is on board...
...and, together with other universities of applied sciences, is offering several events, including an online information session on TransFAIR as a bridge between academia and practice:
"Publishing Research Data: Navigating the Maze of Publication"
When: Wednesday, July 15, 2026, 4:00–5:30 p.m.
Where: Zoom (Register here)
Should I publish not only research findings but also the underlying research data? Is that even possible, and should I do it? What do I need to keep in mind? Does it cost anything? And what publication options are available?
The path to publishing research data raises various questions and can feel like navigating a maze - one that we’d like to explore together. Starting with initial considerations at the beginning of a research project, the path first leads us to various ethical and legal issues that arise in connection with the publication of research data. We will then turn our attention to the publication process itself and the questions of where research data can be published and how the data should be prepared for this purpose. Once we reach the exit of the maze, you will find information on available support services.
We warmly invite
Researchers at all career stages - including student researchers.
The event is jointly organized by Münster University of Applied Sciences, Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, and OWL University of Applied Sciences, and is open to all researchers in North Rhine-Westphalia as part of the state-wide training program.
