To mark the nationwide Open Monument Day on September 13, 2026, the Alter Schlachthof Memorial Site and the University Library will offer guided tours on the history of the Jewish men and women deported from the Düsseldorf slaughterhouse during the Nazi regime, as well as architectural tours.
We are also pleased to present the photography exhibition “Renovation Work: From Slaughterhouse to University Campus and Memorial Site. Images of the Former Livestock Market Hall (2003–2016)” in the basement of the building.
