​​​Our courses are individually customized to the content of your seminar or course.


With years of experience, the University Library offers courses as part of seminars or other academic programs. The course content is individually customized in consultation with the lecturers.

Courses typically last 120 minutes.

The University Library's training team places great emphasis on the practical application of the techniques presented, which is why hands-on practice sessions are always integrated into the sessions.

As a supplement to the literature research training, there is the option of having students prepare a research report (currently only in german).


Possible course topics could include:

  • From Topic to Literature List
    Getting Started with Research, Search Strategies, Quality of Results, Subject-Specific Databases;
    Research Exercise Based on a Course Topic

  • Literature Review - Advanced
    Review of search strategies, quality of search results, advanced use of subject-specific databases

  • Citavi and Zotero
    Practical Use of Reference Management Software

  • Legal Literature Research
    Focus: Beckonline & Juris; Special Search Techniques for Legal Research

  • Preventing Plagiarism
    What is plagiarism and how does it occur? Including good academic practice and copyright law
