All interested parties, including non-members
of the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences (aged 16 and over),
can register at the university library.

Do you use the HSD Card as a member of the university?

Then no additional registration is necessary. You are automatically registered with the BIB and can use the HSD Card for all services.

You do not use an HSD Card?

Then you can register at the University Library during the service hours of the service desk.

For the registration (without HSD Card) you need:

as a member of the HSD:

identity card or passport

as a non-member of the HSD:

Identity card or passport including registration certificate (not older than 6 months)

registration form (currently only in german)

additionally if applicable:

as a student with a disadvantage due to a disability or chronic illness, a certificate for special conditions from the Barrier-Free Studies Office (ABS)

additionally if applicable:

as a student or employee of another university sponsored by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, a student ID card or an employment contract

as a pupil or trainee, a pupil ID card or proof of training

as a holder of the Düssel-Pass the valid Düssel-Pass
as a former member of Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences (formerly: Fachhochschule Düsseldorf), proof of your affiliation
for minors, a declaration of consent + copy of the identity card (or passport including confirmation of registration) of the legal representative

The original identity documents must be presented.

After registering, you will receive a library card that allows you to borrow items immediately.

HSD members may borrow a maximum of 50 items at any one time.
All non-members of the HSD may borrow a maximum of 20 items at any one time.

Registration is free of charge for:

Members and affiliates of the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences
Former members of Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences (formerly: Fachhochschule Düsseldorf)
Members and affiliates of other universities sponsored by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia [pdf file, 148 KB]
Pupils and trainees
Holders of a valid Düssel Pass
Refugees who have been exempted from paying the guest student fee as part of the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences guest student program

All external users must pay an annual fee of 20.00 euros and are excluded from borrowing textbooks from the textbook collection (media with signatures beginning with "15").
