To date, the BIB has been ordering some of its electronic resources through ProQuest’s Ebook Central (EBC) platform. Now, EBC is shutting down its services in two phases as the provider changes its focus:
- At the end of May 2026: 7-day loans (DDA model) will no longer be available
- At the end of May 2026: 5-minute free previews will no longer be available
- At the end of June 2026: the BIB will no longer purchase new titles
The e-books already licensed by BIB can still be accessed and are searchable via KatalogPlus.
