Where and how do you get your library card?


Do you use the HSD Card?
Then you don't need to do anything else. The HSD Card is also your library card.


Don't use an HSD Card?
Then visit your HSD BIB during service hours:

  • You come to the service desk.
  • Tell them that you are a first semester student and show both your photo ID and your student ID.

    That's it!

  • You will receive your library card on your first visit to the HSD BIB. This visit does not have to be on your first day or within your first week on campus.

Introductory events BIB

The University Library offers one information event per department for all new students at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences. Within 30 minutes you will receive the most important information about the HSD BIB. It is not necessary to register in advance:

  • Department of Architecture:
    No extra date (will take place embedded in a lecture)

  • Department of Design:
    Monday, 23.09.2024 from 3.10 - 3.40 p.m. in building 6

  • Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology:
    Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 2 - 2.30 p.m. in the Audimax

  • Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering:
    Wednesday, 25.09.2024 from 12.50 a.m. - 01.20 p.m. in the Audimax

  • Department of Media:
    Wednesday, 25.09.2024 from 10.30 - 11 a.m. in the Audimax

  • Department of Social and Cultural Sciences:
    Thursday, 26.09.2024 from 9 - 9.30 a.m. in the Audimax
  • Department of Business and Economics:
    Thursday, 26.09.2024 from 01.45 - 02.15 p.m. in the Audimax
